C3= Cards, Crafts & Connection
Do you love to receive mail or send mail to others? Snail mail that is! Are you into handmade cardmaking or papercrafting? If you follow this blog or website, you know I am…that’s for sure.
I often joke that I’m personally supporting the U.S. postal service, but time and again, I hear from friends, co-workers, colleagues, acquaintances and others who are touched by cards I’ve written and sent them, or cards I’ve made and sent them. It needn’t be handmade, just the thought to mail something personal to someone else in our often busy lives is something that touches people.
To that end, I have hosted and advised others on hosting, a gathering I dubbed a C3 = Cards, Crafts & Connection which is a party one could host on their own, or with friends, all about connecting and reaching out to others and connecting through cards! The party can be focused on making pretty hand-crafted cards, or writing on nice store bought cards, but the point for this type of party is to have fun with friends, to provide a space and supplies for everyone to be able to craft and write cards. They’re gathering together to ready card missives of love to to reach out and touch someone at this party!
If you are a crafty soul, gather up all your cardmaking supplies and set up some stations. If you’d rather purchase lots of pretty paper notecards and store-bought stationery, do that. Don’t forget envelopes and, if you’re up to providing it, postage…which can help “assist” those letters making it into a mailbox.
Think about all the people that you’re thankful for in your life. All the services and places you go that you’re thankful for as well. Those are the people and places you can start with writing cards to, if you choose. Yes, there’s email, but the beauty of a letter or handwritten card, even one with a brief message inside, is that you took the time to think about them, write it, seal it, address it, add any artistic flourishes to the envelope, stamp it, put it in a mailbox and wish for it to be received in a good way. All of that positive energy out there cannot help but end up spreading more love.
Spread more joy, send more mail! Your card will hopefully make someone else’s day. And your friends and you will have a great time bonding, crafting, writing and thinking about things to write about at the C3 = Cards, Crafts & Connection beforehand too!
For all of you who make cards and/or have card writing parties, let’s hear about them! Send us a note at [email protected] and tell us more or ask us more about hosting your own C3. The world could always use more happy mail, so keep up your cards, crafts and connections. I’ll look forward to hearing from some of you via snail mail too.😊
